ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the County Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement substantially consistent with this agenda item.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
The Board has approved similar lease agreements consistent with this agenda item every 3 years, most recently in 2021.
BACKGROUND:
Union County has provided office space through a lease to the NC Department of Adult Correction consistently on a 3 year cycle. The current lease expires on February 28, 2024. This request is to approve a new lease with the following conditions and terms:
Being approximately +191 net square feet of office space located at 400 N. Main Street; Union County; Monroe, North Carolina, and further described in the floor plan, Exhibit “A” (attached). The term of this lease shall be for a period of three (3) years, commencing on 1st day of March 2024, or as soon thereafter as the leased premises are ceded to the Lessee and terminating on the 28th day of February 2027. During the term of the lease, the Lessee shall pay to the Lessor as rental for said premises the sum of $1.00 dollar per annum.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The County will receive $1 per annum per the lease terms.
