ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the County Manager, or his designee, to sign title documents on behalf of Union County consistent with the Union County Vehicle Use Policy.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
August 14, 2023, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 23-502 - Union County Vehicle Use Policy was revised.
BACKGROUND:
The Union County Vehicle Use Policy indicates that Fleet Management shall be responsible for the proper registration, title and tags of new County vehicles upon receiving the appropriate paperwork on all new vehicles from the Garage and/or County Department. When purchasing new vehicles, the action has authorized the County Manager to execute agreements consistent with the agenda item, but there has been no authorization of additional staff to execute documents on the County’s behalf. This agenda item would allow the County Manager to designate County Staff to sign title documents on the County’s behalf consistent with the Union County Vehicle Use Policy. The Union County Vehicle Use Policy is attached.
