ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve resolution establishing a 12 month litter committee and addendum to board application.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
1) August 16, 2021, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 39 - Union County 2050 Comprehensive Plan was approved by the Board.
2) January 2, 2024, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 24-074 - Union County 2050 Implementation Committee Presentation Schedule was approved by the Board.
3) March 4, 2024, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 24-074 - Union County 2050 Implementation Litter Recommendations, staff directed to establish a temporary committee by the Board.
BACKGROUND:
Litter is one of the six issues studied as part of the Comprehensive Plan process. The Board of Commissioners directed staff to establish a temporary committee to review recommendations and provide detailed implementation actions to the Board of Commissioners within 12 months. The Board is asked to approve a resolution establishing the committee and stakeholders to be prioritized in recruiting and appointing to the committee. The Planning Department and Solid Waste Division will staff this committee, with other departments involved as needed.
