Adopt Proclamation recognizing July 2026 as America 250 Month in Union County.

BACKGROUND:
On July 4, 2026, our nation will celebrate the 250th anniversary of this historic event, known nationwide as “America 250.” This proclamation recognizes the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, and encourages residents to reflect on the nation's founding principles of liberty, equality, and democracy. It also highlights Union County's contributions to the history of North Carolina and the United States, while encouraging participation in local commemorative events and activities that honor our shared history, promote civic engagement, and foster community pride and unity.
