ACTION REQUESTED:

Authorize the County Manager to 1) negotiate and execute an agreement substantially consistent with this agenda item, 2) exercise any renewal or extension term options set forth in the Agreement, and 3) terminate the Agreement if deemed in the best interest of the County, each in the County Manager's discretion.

None.

BACKGROUND:

The Union County Water Capital Improvement Program (CIP) includes an allocation for the design and construction of a new elevated storage tank (EST) to serve the 935 pressure zone (PZ) as identified in the 2025 Master Plan. The preliminary engineering report (PER) will verify the EST volume and recommend areas within the 935 PZ for the tank’s location.

 

CDM Smith has been selected to provide engineering services for Task Order 8686-03 Pressure Zone 935 Elevated Storage Tank: Preliminary Engineering Report. CDM Smith was chosen from a list of vendors previously selected from RFQ 2024-021 - Engineering Services for Water and Wastewater System Improvements to provide these services for Union County Projects.

FINANCIAL IMPACT: 

The total cost of the Task Order 8686-03 with CDM Smith is $165,000.00. Sufficient funds are available in Capital Account Program 60184134 - 935 Zone Elevated Tank.
