The regular meeting of the Union County Board of Commissioners scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, will not be held out of an abundance of caution for public safety due to inclement weather. All items on the agenda will move to the next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Due to construction at the Union County Government Center, the primary entrance off Main Street Plaza is closed. Visitors should follow signage to the facility's temporary entrances. To learn more or to view a project map, visit ucgov.info/PardonOurProgress.

body
INFORMATION CONTACT:
Caleb Sinclair, Solid Waste, Director, 704-283-3576
ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve the write-off of uncollectable Solid Waste accounts as needed.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
Solid Waste has three poultry credit accounts that were closed on December 31, 2024, due to no longer taking poultry at the Union County Landfill. These three accounts have uncollectable account balances and should be removed from UCSW’s accounts receivable balances. The included attachment lists the accounts total ($3,657.36) being “written-off” for FY2025.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There will be a reduction in the accounts receivable balances for Union County Solid Waste of $3,657.36. This will also be shown as a corresponding expense to the enterprise fund uncollectable accounts.
