ACTION REQUESTED:
Adopt Capital Project Ordinance (CPO) 343C and 314C.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
September 19, 2022, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item #22-657 - Adopted CPO 314.
April 3, 2023, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item #23-171 - Adopted CPO 343.
BACKGROUND:
On September 19, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Capital Project Ordinance (CPO) 314 to provide funding for the South Piedmont Community College (SPCC) Aseptic Training Center. CPO 314 has since been amended on February 19, 2024, May 6, 2024, May 19, 2024, and December 8, 2025. On April 3, 2023, the Board adopted CPO 343C to fund campus improvements at SPCC. CPO 343C has been amended on January 6, 2024, and May 4, 2026.
SPCC has received additional interest earnings on the Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) grant funds allocated for the Aseptic Training Center. SPCC has requested to transfer $235,500 of these funds from CPO 314 (Aseptic Training Center) to CPO 343C (Campus Improvements). Approval of this request would require amending both capital project ordinances to reflect the transfer.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Amend CPO 314 and CPO 343C to transfer $235,500 from the Aseptic Training Center project to the campus improvements project.
