ACTION REQUESTED:
Adopt the Resolution for Dedication and Transfer of Right of Way to the North Carolina Department of Transportation and Temporary Construction Easement to Dream Finder Homes, LLC.

BACKGROUND:
Union County purchased certain property located on Hwy 74 East at the intersection of Edgewood Drive, Union County Tax Parcel 09057011 on February 22, 2024. The County has been approached by Dream Finder Homes, Inc., for the purposes of acquiring permanent right-of-way interests related to roadway improvements to Edgewood Drive, specifically for a turn lane, as part of the planned Cottages of Wingate development. It has been requested that the County dedicate approximately 0.126 acres to the North Carolina Department of Transportation as a public right-of-way and transfer a temporary construction easement to Dream Finder Homes, LLC.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Union County will receive $5,000 for the right of way dedication.
