ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the County Manager to sign four agreements.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
October 21, 2024, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 24-644 - Authorize staff to apply for critical intersection design and cost estimation study.
BACKGROUND:
Union County has been awarded a $160,000 planning grant from the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) to develop designs and cost estimates for five intersections. The grant requires $40,000 in local match. Union County has partnered with Indian Trail, Monroe, Unionville and Wesley Chapel to pay $16,000 for the local match for the intersections in their jurisdiction. Union County is committing $24,000 for the remaining match. The planning process will occur in FY2026, with work completed by June 2026.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
$16,000 benefit in FY2026.
