ACTION REQUESTED:
Recognize the Information Technology Department and collaborating departments including Library, Public Communications, and Human Services for ranking 6th nationally in the Center for Digital Government Survey for technology excellence.

BACKGROUND:
During the National Association of Counties (NACo) annual conference, Union County Information Technology accepted the award for being ranked sixth nationally in the 150,000 to 249,999 population category. This recognizes Union County for initiatives and collaboration that are among the best technological and cybersecurity practices in the country. The Center for Digital Government (CDG) and NACo recently announced the winners of the 21st annual Digital Counties Survey. The survey, developed in partnership with NACo and conducted by CDG, identifies outstanding technology practices among U.S. counties, including initiatives that streamline delivery of government services; encourage collaboration; enhance cybersecurity; and apply innovative and emerging technologies to county priorities. This is the 7th year in a row that Union County has finished in the top 10 nationally.
