PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:

April 12, 2021, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item #8 - Approved 3-year contract

BACKGROUND:

Emergency Communications uses Priority Dispatch software for the processing of Emergency Medical and Emergency Fire calls commonly known as PROQA. The software aids Telecommunicators in navigating case entry and key questions to identify an appropriate determinate code for dispatch. Once established, it provides the Telecommunicator post-dispatch and pre-arrival instructions for the caller.

The Emergency Communications Department has utilized the contractual services of Priority Dispatch Corporation for software licensing, maintenance, and support since 2016. Priority Dispatch Corporation has been effective and efficient in meeting our service needs, and we are requesting to continue this service for an additional 5 years.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The anticipated first-year cost for this service is $39,000. Since the contract contains a five-year term with annual cost increases of 3%, a total of $207,056.30 is estimated to be spent. Funding is available in the adopted FY2026 budget with future expenditures subject to annual BOCC budget appropriation.
