ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve the write-off of the 2016 uncollected fire fees.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
Under NCGS 105-378, property taxes and certain fees associated with those taxes are no longer subject to enforced collection remedies after 10 years. Accordingly, the Tax Collector annually requests that the Board of County Commissioners approve the write-off of all taxes and associated fees that are more than 10 years old.
