The regular meeting of the Union County Board of Commissioners scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, will not be held out of an abundance of caution for public safety due to inclement weather.  All items on the agenda will move to the next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

ACTION REQUESTED:

Authorize the County Manager to 1) negotiate and execute an agreement substantially consistent with this agenda item, 2) exercise any renewal or extension term options set forth in the Agreement, and 3) terminate the Agreement if deemed in the best interest of the County, each in the County Manager’s discretion.

PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:

1) January 6,2022, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 5 - Adopt capital project ordinance (CPO) 247 and approve task order #0014 with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. for engineering services performed for the expansion of the C&D Landfill.

2) March 2, 2020, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 10 - Appropriation of Funding for C&D Landfill Expansion Engineering Services. Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc has been selected to provide consulting for 2023-06 Task Order for services for upcoming landfill expansion project. Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. was chosen from a list of vendors previously selected from 2023-037 to provide these services for Union County projects

BACKGROUND:

Union County recently received a Permit to Construct (PTC) for an expansion of the C&D Landfill. Civil & Environmental Consultants will provide engineering services related to construction to include bid document preparation, surveying, construction CQA, and project specific construction related services.

FINANCIAL IMPACT: 

The total cost of the contract with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is $101,900. Sufficient funds are available in capital account Solid Waste C&D Expansion.
