ACTION REQUESTED:
1) Authorize the County Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement substantially consistent with this agenda item, and 2) adopt Resolution Providing Notice of Construction of the South Piedmont Regional Autopsy Center.

BACKGROUND:
A new South Piedmont Regional Autopsy Center is planned to be constructed on property adjacent to the Union County Sheriff's Office campus and will provide morgue and forensic pathology services to the residents of Union County and several surrounding counties. The project scope includes construction of a 15,000 gsf single story building, associated sitework and utilities. The new facility will include autopsy stations, observation rooms, examination rooms, lab space, biological processing equipment, refrigeration space, private offices, and a conference area, and will be equipped with comprehensive ventilation and air conditioning, and enhanced security.
