ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize BOCC Chairman to sign amended memorandum of understanding.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
On June 17 the CRTPO Board endorsed an update to its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and authorized staff to circulate the updated document for signatures. The scope of the text revision within the MOU is limited to replacing references to the Metropolitan Transit Commission (MTC) with the Metropolitan Public Transportation Authority (MPTA) throughout the document. The MPTA has replaced MTC as a result of the successful 2025 Mecklenburg County one cent sales tax referendum for increased transportation funding.
In order for the CRTPO’s updated MOU to be considered the current document, signatures must be received from the Chief Elected Official and Clerk from each of the CRTPO’s voting jurisdictions.
CRTPO is requesting that all jurisdictions sign and return the executed documents by August 18, 2026.
