ACTION REQUESTED:
1) Authorize the County Manager to i) negotiate and execute an agreement substantially consistent with the agenda item, ii) exercise any renewal or extension term options set forth in the Agreement, iii) terminate the Agreement if deemed in the best interest of the County, each in the County Manager's discretion, and 2) adopt Resolution Providing Notice of Construction of the South Piedmont Regional Autopsy Center.

BACKGROUND:
This request is to approve a contract amendment with Wharton Smith, Inc. for an early release electrical package bid by Wharton Smith, Inc. for the South Piedmont Regional Autopsy Center. This request is only to purchase long lead time electrical equipment and future, "Guaranteed Maximum Price" (GMP) amendment(s) will be brought back to the Board for consideration at the appropriate time(s). This project will include a new one-story building at approximately 15,000 gsf, site work and utilities located on the parcel adjacent to the Union County Sheriff's Office campus.
