ACTION REQUESTED:
Review and approve requested fees to be added to the Human Services Agency’s Department of Public Health Fee Schedule.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
In accordance with G.S. 130A-39(g), which allows local public health departments to implement fees for services rendered, Union County Public Health, with the approval of the Union County Consolidated Human Services Agency and Board of County Commissioners requests approval to adopt fees for the following Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Codes.
• CPT Code, 69209 ($19.63) for removal of impacted cerumen by irrigation/lavage. This fee is requested because irrigation/lavage is the most used method for removal of impacted cerumen and we are not currently charging for this procedure.
• CPT Code, 85613 ($15.82) for diluted Russell viper venom time (dRvvt). This is a clot-based test used primarily to screen, detect, or confirm the presence of lupus. LabCorp has changed its available lupus tests, and it includes this CPT code.
• CPT Code, 1111F (No fee) for hospital discharge medication records reconciliation with current medication list within 30 days of hospital discharge. This code is used for tracking purposes only to report that the discharge medications were reconciled with an outpatient medical record.
• CPT Code, G0010 ($10.84) is for the administration of Hep B vaccine. This code covers the injection service and not the vaccine product.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The revenue generated by the requested fees will assist the Human Services Agency’s Public Health Department in covering associated clinical costs. There is no revenue associated with 1111F.
