BACKGROUND:
The proposed text amendments modify the UDO by changing the UDO’s requirements to increase intersection spacing requirements along public roads that have a posted speed limit of 45 MPH or greater for lots created after the effective date of such amendments.
The Land Use Board reviewed these amendments at their regular October meeting and unanimously recommended approval.
Motions for approval or denial
To approve the text amendments (the text amendments are consistent with the current plan)
Motion
(i) Adopt the Ordinance Approving Text Amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance of Union County, North Carolina, and (ii) adopt the consistency and reasonableness statement for approval.
To deny the proposed text amendment (the text amendments are inconsistent with the current plan)
Motion
(i) Deny the text amendments set forth in TXT-2026-005; and (ii) adopt the consistency and reasonableness statement for denial.
