ACTION REQUESTED:
Appoint James R. Wikle (Jim) to the Nursing Home Advisory Committee.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
James R. Wikle (Jim) originally applied for the Adult Care Home Advisory Committee. His application was sent to Centralina Area Agency on Aging for them to contact him so he could complete his required training. Because a quorum of members is required for the committee to complete its quarterly visits, it has been unable to meet. The Clerk’s Office has been informed that the Nursing Home Advisory Committee is meeting, and Mr. Wikle has completed his training and is working with that committee.
Centralina appointed Mr. Wikle to serve on the Nursing Home Advisory Committee on April 21, 2026, but he has not been appointed by the Board of Commissioners to serve on that committee. Mr. Wikle has agreed to serve on the Nursing Home Advisory Committee rather than the Adult Care Home Advisory Committee, since the Nursing Home Advisory Committee is able to meet currently.
Mr. Wikle is also serving an unexpired term on the Home and Community Care Block Grant Advisory Committee.
