ACTION REQUESTED:
Award contract to Weathergard, Inc in the amount of $475,800.00; 2) authorize the County Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement substantially consistent with the agenda item, exercise any renewal or extension term options set forth in the Agreement, and terminate the Agreement if deemed in the best interest of the County, each in the County Manager’s discretion; 3) adopt Resolution Providing Notice of Construction of the Union County School Administration Roof Replacement Project.

BACKGROUND:
The project scope of work entails replacing the existing roof system on the Union County School administrative building and providing a new modified bitumen roof on the two flat roofs and a thermoplastic polyolefin roof on the barrel roof as a part of scheduled life cycle replacement.
On June 08, 2026, the Procurement Department partnered with Facilities and Fleet Management to issue an Invitation to Bid, IFB 2026-056 Union County School Administration Roof Replacement project. On July 16, 2026, eleven (11) bids for the titled project were received and processed. All bids were tabulated, reviewed and certified by Gensler Architecture, Design and Planning, P.C. The bids range from $475,800.00 to $773,613.00; staff recommends that the project be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Weathergard, Inc in the amount of $475,800.00.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funding is available within the adopted capital account - Facilities Repair and Renovation, 40080069, to support the construction contract amount of $475,800.00.
