BACKGROUND:

The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) provides capacity-building resources that support local health departments in developing and implementing public health policies and practices to ensure communities have access to the vital programs and services that protect them from disease and disaster.

In partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), NACCHO is offering a funding opportunity, Advancing Evidence-Based Strategies to Strengthen Vaccine Uptake and Confidence in High-Risk Communities. Selected LHDs will identify, implement and evaluate an evidence-based intervention to improve vaccine uptake, access and confidence within high-risk populations. Communities considered high-risk are those that experience persistently low vaccination rates due to deeply rooted beliefs, community norms, or barriers that contribute to low vaccine confidence and an increased risk of outbreaks. These communities may also face a higher risk of negative health outcomes due to limited access to or uptake of medical services. With support from NACCHO, awardees will document lessons learned, develop communication materials, and participate in shared learning experiences.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The grant request will be for up to $40,000. There is no match required for this grant.
