INFORMATION CONTACT:
Brian Matthews, Assistant County Manager, 704-292-2597
ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve Budget Amendment #10
BACKGROUND:
On July 19, 2021, the Board adopted an Ordinance Ordering the Removal or Demolition of the Structure at 2101 White Store Rd., Monroe, North Carolina. Despite a long history of enforcement action taken by Building Code Enforcement and Environmental Health, the property remained non-compliant and in violation of various North Carolina General Statutes. The cost to demolish the structure, including the abandonment of septic tanks, is estimated at $20,300. Budget Amendment #10 appropriates restricted fund balance to cover the demolition and related costs.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
$20,300
