Present the Lifesaver Award to Sheriff's Office Deputy Brandie Grant and Deputy Lucas Jacobs.

BACKGROUND:
Two Union County Sheriff’s Office deputies are being recognized with the Lifesaver Award for their actions during separate emergencies in which their quick thinking, training and decisive actions helped save lives.
Deputy Brandie Grant was the first responder to arrive at a medical emergency in Indian Trail involving an individual experiencing a complete airway obstruction. She immediately performed the Heimlich maneuver, successfully clearing the obstruction and restored the individual’s ability to breathe.
Deputy Lucas Jacobs is being recognized for his response to a volatile domestic disturbance during which two individuals required immediate medical attention. After bringing the situation under control, Jacobs provided lifesaving aid to one critically injured individual while directing fellow deputies in providing emergency care to the other. His leadership and actions helped preserve both lives until emergency medical personnel arrived.
The Lifesaver Award is presented to Union County employees whose actions directly contribute to saving a life.
