ACTION REQUESTED:
Accept the low bidder, authorize award of the construction contract to Connectivity, LLC in the amount of $805,310.23, authorize the County Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement consistent with this agenda item, and Adopt Resolution Providing Notice of Structured Cabling Project.
BACKGROUND:
Union County has three (3) capital facility projects underway that will require significant structured cabling as part of the scope of each project. On September 9, 2021, the Procurement Department issued an Invitation for Bids as IFB 2022-023. On September 17, 2021, only one (1) bid was received which required the project to be rebid. The Procurement Department issued an Invitation for Bids as IFB 2022-023 REBID on September 24, 2021. On October 4, 2021, two (2) bids, only one (1) of which was deemed responsive, were received and publicly opened. All bids were tabulated, reviewed and certified by the designer per the attached report. Based on the designer’s review and recommendation, staff recommends that the project be awarded to the lowest, responsive bidder, Connectivity, LLC, in the amount of $805,310.23.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total cost of the contract is $805,310.23. There are sufficient funds to cover this expense in Capital Accounts 40080109 - Emergency Services Complex, 40080080 - Sheriff’s Office Renovations and 40080096 - Southwest Union Library.
