PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:

None.

BACKGROUND:

The Human Services Agency identified the need to provide a more efficient and customer friendly experience to administer immunizations at the existing Human Services building. The project will construct a small, isolated room designed with a focus on worker and resident safety as well as a pleasant customer experience. The room will include a small waiting area, immunization area and medical product and equipment storage.

On January 26, 2024, the Procurement Division partnered with Facilities Management to issue an Invitation for Bids, IFB #2024-039. On February 22, 2024, five (5) bids were received and processed for the titled project. All bids were tabulated, reviewed and certified by Creech and Associates. The bids ranged from $92,840.00 to $170,880.60; staff recommends the project be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Hoss Contracting, Inc., in the amount of $92,840.00.

Pass-through ARPA funding has been identified to support the project. These federal ARPA funds are passed through NC DHHS to Union County Public Health and are approved to be used for improvements to immunization facilities, infrastructure, and systems.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

$92,840.00
