ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the Chair to take the following administrative action as approved by the Board: to extend the County Attorney’s contract term in accordance with this agenda item and attached amendment.

BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to N.C.G.S. § 153A-114, the Board of County Commissioners shall appoint a County Attorney to serve at its pleasure and be its legal adviser. This agenda item authorizes the Chair to execute an amendment to extend the County Attorney’s contract term in accordance with this agenda item and attached contract amendment.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
No additional funding required this fiscal year. Sufficient funding is included in the FY27 budget.
