BACKGROUND:
In accordance with North Carolina General Statutes, Union County is required to present and hold a public hearing on the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The County Manager will present the recommended Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Operating and Capital Budget that outlines the County’s financial plan for delivering essential services, funding infrastructure needs, and supporting community priorities.
The budget reflects a commitment to responsible fiscal management, strategic investment, and maintaining high-quality service delivery across all departments. The public hearing provides an opportunity for residents, stakeholders, and elected officials to review and provide feedback on the proposed plan prior to its adoption.
