The regular meeting of the Union County Board of Commissioners scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, will not be held out of an abundance of caution for public safety due to inclement weather.  All items on the agenda will move to the next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

ACTION REQUESTED:

Approve budget amendment #28 to transfer funds from General Government to Public Safety for Inmate Health Services contract.

PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:

April 15, 2024, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 24-265 - Authorized County Manager to execute a contract for Inmate Health Services

BACKGROUND:

During the April 15, 2024, regular meeting of the County Commission, the board approved a contract to provide inmate health services in the county jail. This contract requires an increase in county funding in FY 2024 in the amount of $507,311. This will be funded with available county lapsed salaries.
