BACKGROUND:
As part of the administrative close-out process for the UCSO Administration Office Expansion project, an unpaid invoice from Creech and Associates, PLLC was discovered that was not financially authorized by Union County through a typical contract agreement. The invoice is for design services to upfit the UCSO Crime Lab which was built as a shell space at the time the original design services were provided for the project. After review of the invoice, Facilities Management has verified that staff gave verbal authorization to proceed with the design work, but no contract or contract amendment was executed. Creech and Associates acted in good faith and performed the services requested. The project was later bid by the Facilities and Fleet Management department and completed around August 2024. Staff recommends the approval of the invoice from Creech and Associates, PLLC in the amount of $20,000.00.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The invoice total is $20,000.00. There are sufficient funds capital account 40080080, Sheriff’s Office Expansion and Renovation, to cover the expense.
