ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the County Manager to submit the associated grant application and make necessary assurances and certifications associated with the grant application as substantially consistent with this agenda item, which includes the authorization to execute documents related to award of the grant and budget funds as appropriate.

BACKGROUND:
NCOSFM has a Smoke Alarm Saturday program that is on the first Saturday of June each year. They also have a Smoke Alarm Canvassing program that the jurisdiction can pick a location or multiple to do smoke alarm canvassing. This grant enables us to apply for both programs. NCOSFM provides the smoke alarms for us to install at no cost to the residents. Working smoke alarms are a great tool in the discovery of a fire and aid in the notification of the occupant.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None. It is a 100% grant with no county funding having to be applied for it.
