ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the County Manager to 1) negotiate and execute an agreement substantially consistent with this agenda item, 2) exercise any renewal or extension term options set forth in the Agreement, and 3) terminate the Agreement if deemed in the best interest of the County, each in the County Manager's discretion.

BACKGROUND:
Purchase a new CAT 950 Wheel Loader to replace the current 2013 CAT 938K with 15,000 hours at the Transfer Station. Purchasing a new 2024 model will save Solid Waste $175,000. Quotes were received for 2024 and 2025 comparable models to confirm the savings during FY2025 budget discussion.
N.C.G.S 143-129(e)(3) and N.C.G.S 143-129(e)(9) allow local governments to make purchases through a competitively bid North Carolina Statewide Term Contract or a Group Purchasing Program. The purchase of the CAT 950 loader will be made using Group Purchasing Program, Sourcewell Contract 011723-CAT as quoted by Carolina CAT.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The anticipated cost for the CAT 950 loader is $453,725.97 and is budgeted accordingly for FY2025.
