May 6, 2024, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 24-289 - Resolution authorizing staff to apply for North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Green Growth Grant
BACKGROUND:
The Union County 2050 comprehensive plan recommended developing a rural land use plan to create more specific recommendations for the roughly 50% of the county recommended as “rural residential” in the plan. The plan process started in October 2024 and is scheduled to be complete by April 2026. Alisa Davis, with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, will present on the background of the program that provided the grant to Union County. Allan Baucom is the chairman of the eight-member steering committee appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Chairman Baucom will present the work of the committee and ask for feedback.
