BACKGROUND:
The Union County 2050 comprehensive plan recommended developing a rural land use plan to create more specific recommendations for the roughly 50% of the county recommended as “rural residential” in the plan. The plan process started in October 2024 and is scheduled to be complete by April 2026. Allan Baucom is the chairman of the eight-member steering committee appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Chairman Baucom will present the work of the committee and ask for feedback.
