ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the County Manager to 1) negotiate and execute an agreement substantially consistent with this agenda item, 2) exercise any renewal or extension term options set forth in the Agreement, and 3) terminate the Agreement if deemed in the best interest of the County, each in the County Manager's discretion.

BACKGROUND:
The Yadkin River Water Treatment Facility uses Aluminum Sulfate as a coagulating agent to reduce solids in the settled water as part of the water treatment process. The Facility will also use Ammonium Sulfate in combination with bleach to create monochloramines for the disinfection process. Invitation for Bid #2023-025 Yadkin River Treatment Plant Chemicals was issued with a bid opening of February 21, 2023, and ChemTrade was selected as the lowest responsible bidder. The term of the original contract is six months from the date of award with the option to renew for five additional six-month periods and is subject to budget appropriation.
The Yadkin River Water Treatment Plant, Water & Wastewater Division, UCW has utilized the contractual services of Chemtrade Chemicals US LLC for goods since April 18, 2023. ChemTrade Chemicals US LLC has been effective and efficient in meeting our service needs, and we are requesting to continue this service for an additional 6 months.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The anticipated cost for this service is $73,723.00 and is budgeted accordingly for FY2025.
