PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
1) August 16, 2021, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 39- Union County 2050 Comprehensive Plan approved by the Board.
2) January 3, 2022, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 21-546 - Appointment to Committee.
BACKGROUND:
School Siting is one of the six issues studied as part of the Comprehensive Plan process. The strategies to address this issue were identified as part of a six-month process in early 2022, with the committee comprised of residents appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The Union County Public School system also had staff attend committee meetings. These strategies are a combination of policies and development ordinance revisions. The Board of Commissioners is asked to provide guidance to staff on which strategies to begin implementing, as well as provide additional information at future Board meetings about any specific strategy in question.
This is the last of six implementation committee recommendations to present to the Board.
