ACTION REQUESTED:
Consider appointment of two (2) Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) members to the Town of Wingate’s Land Use Board.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
September 7, 2021, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item # 30 - Appointed two ETJ members.
BACKGROUND:
On August 17, 2021, the Wingate Town Council adopted a Resolution Requesting the Union County Board of Commissioners to Appoint Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) Members for the Town of Wingate Joint Land Use Board. The Town of Wingate Board of Commissioners, by ordinance, disbanded the Planning Board and Board of Adjustments for the Boards to be combined. On September 7, 2021, the Union County Board of Commissioners appointed Myra Tomberlin and Blair Stegall to serve as the ETJ members on the Town of Wingate Joint Land Use Board. The Clerk to the Board received an email from the Town of Wingate’s Clerk stating that the terms of Ms. Tomberlin and Mr. Stegall on the Joint Land Use Board expire in September.
These vacancies were advertised in accordance with the Union County of Commissioners’ Rules of Procedure. Both Ms. Tomberlin and Mr. Stegall applied for reapplied for reappointment. No other applications have been received.
