BACKGROUND:
BlueCross & BlueShield (BCBS) of North Carolina Foundation is providing a grant opportunity for funding of $75,000 to $500,000 per year for up to three years in support of Youth Mental and Behavioral Health. The purpose of this funding opportunity is to expand access to mental and behavioral health services and resources for youth in NC through models that are effective in the short term (1-3 years), and which leverage a trained workforce to identify, understand, and respond to the signs/symptoms of distress, trauma, mental health changes, or substance use and provide initial support and connection to resources for youth. This grant will enable additional access to training and material resources for BHC staff & interns, which will increase our capacity and support the work we complete with students across Union County. If awarded, the grant funds will be eligible for use from November 1, 2024 through November 30, 2027.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
We are requesting $75,000 per year for up to three years for a total potential award of $225,000. No local match is required.
