ACTION REQUESTED:
Adopt the revised Union County Personnel Resolution effective July 1, 2024.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
Updates to the Personnel Resolution are recommended at times to address terminology changes, organizational alignment, county management operational needs, and Board of County Commissioners direction. The recommended revised Union County Personnel Resolution (“UCPR”) includes the following revisions to the existing Personnel Resolution:
• Technical and terminology revisions throughout the UCPR to correspond with current terminology and organizational structure and practice
• Revisions to reflect recognition of Presidents’ Day as a County holiday
• Revisions to reflect the enactment of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and related regulations
• Revisions to reflect the distinction between “administrative leave” and “blood donation leave”
• Improvements to the appeal procedures
• Improvements to the grievance procedures
