ACTION REQUESTED:

PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:

March 4, 2024, Regular Meeting, Agenda Item #24-127 - Board approved the acceptance of the FY2024 Portable Radio Grant Agreement

BACKGROUND:

Emergency Communications has been awarded a portable radio grant by the NC 911 Board for 13 APX 8000 radios, additional batteries, and chargers for the 911 center.

N.C.G.S 143-129(e)(3) and N.C.G.S 143-129(e)(9) allow local governments to make purchases through a competitively bid North Carolina Statewide Term Contract or a Group Purchasing Program.

The purchase of the 13 radios, batteries, and chargers will be made using North Carolina Statewide Term Contract 19144-725G quoted by Motorola Solutions. The Procurement Department has vetted this contract and purchase amount.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The anticipated cost for the radios and accessories is $107,214.57 and is budgeted accordingly for FY2024. The NC911 Board will reimburse Union County for its purchase as outlined in the previous Grant Agreement.
