ACTION REQUESTED:
Adopt Budget Amendment 35.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
This budget amendment appropriates fund balance into the Volunteer Fire Department funds to ensure sufficient budget to meet all obligations. With the volatility of sales tax in FY 2024, this is a precautionary measure to make sure each VFD fund will meet its financial obligations.
The following amounts will be transferred to each of the districts listed below:
• Bakers Fire District: $69,060
• New Salem Fire District: $5,114
• Providence Fire District: $9,634
• Sandy Ridge Fire District: $13,998
• Stack Road Fire District: $3,065
• Waxhaw Fire District: $18,010
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Appropriate $118,881 in General Fund fund balance to fire service districts.
