ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the County Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement substantially consistent with this agenda item.

BACKGROUND:
The completion of the new Southwest Regional Library located at 1515 Cuthbertson Road in Waxhaw is now open to the public. Due to opening of this new facility, the previous Waxhaw Library building located at 509 South Providence St. in Waxhaw is no longer in use by Union County for library services. The current lease agreement with the Town of Waxhaw from April 18,1988 requires six (6) months notification to terminate the lease of the space, however this amendment would instead bring the agreement to a close in an orderly manner terminating on June 30, 2024.
