Consider appointments to Boards and Committees
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
Union County has the following vacancies on Boards and Committees:
1) Partners Health Management Board of Directors
Commissioner Williams currently serves as the Commissioner/Commissioner Designee representative on this Board. His term on this Board will expire on June 30, 2024.
He has indicated his willingness to continue serving on this Board. The terms on this Board are for three years.
2) South Piedmont Community College Board of Trustees
Union County has three appointments to this Board.
The term of Former Commissioner Jerry Simpson expires on June 30, 2024. This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the Board’s Rules of Procedure.
Applications have been received from Gary Salek and Jerry Simpson.
3) City of Monroe’s Planning Board - ETJ (Extraterritorial Jurisdiction) Representative
This is an unexpired term ending December 31, 2025, due to the resignation of the member who was serving.
This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the Board’s Rules of Procedure and an application has been received from Pamela J. Duda.
4) Union County Land Use Board
Vacancies exist on the Union County Land Use Board for two regular members and two alternate members. One of the alternate member positions is an unexpired term which ends on June 20, 2025. These vacancies have been advertised in accordance with the Board’s Rules of Procedure, and applications were received as follows:

5. Mr. Frances J. Ward - application for reappointment
