ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the County Manager to 1) negotiate and execute an agreement substantially consistent with this agenda item, 2) exercise any renewal or extension term options set forth in the Agreement, and 3) terminate the Agreement if deemed in the best interest of the County, each in the County Manager’s discretion.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
The County is currently completing a renovation of the former Surplus building to allow relocation of the Radio Installation Shop from a temporary location provided by UCPS. Management of the Radio Installation Shop was recently moved under Facilities and Fleet Management in October 2023. After evaluation of the operational needs of the Radio and Fleet groups, staff recommended the addition of an additional four post vehicle lift to increase our ability to service large vehicles and to allow a lift located directly in the Radio Installation Shop to support that operation. The lift would be a shared resource by both the Radio Installation Shop and Fleet and intended to reduce turnaround time for emergency vehicle modifications and maintenance and repairs for large vehicles.
On January 23, 2024, the Procurement Department partnered with Facilities and Fleet Management to issue an Invitation for Bid IFB #2024-061. On February 29, 2024, ten (10) bids for the title project were received and processed. All bids were tabulated, reviewed, and certified by Facilities and Fleet Management. The bids ranged from $57,295.20 to $110,230.46. Staff recommends that the project be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Purser Auto Source, in the amount of $57,295.20.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funding is available within the adopted Facilities Repair and Renovation capital fund to support the contract amount of $57,295.20.
