Appointments to the Consolidated Human Services Board

ACTION REQUESTED:
Review applications and consider appointing the recommended applicants for the Consolidated Human Services Board "Other Person, Physician, Registered Nurse and Social Worker" positions.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
The Consolidated Human Services Board (CHSB), pursuant to N.C. general statute ? 153A-77, is permitted to be composed of up to 25 members and composition of the board shall reasonably reflect the population makeup of the County. Currently, the Union County CHSB has 19 membership positions, each of which has a specific designation. Nine positions are filled and there are 11 vacancies including:
- Consumer of Human Services (2)
- Community Based Organization Representative (1)
- Other Person (1)
- Dentist (1)
- Pharmacist (1)
- Physician (1)
- Physician - Psychiatrist (1)
- Psychologist (1)
- Registered Nurse (1)
- Social Worker (1)
As is the County's usual practice, the vacancies available for appointment were advertised by posting a notice on the County's website:

Multiple applications were received and at its March 11, 2024 and May 13, 2024 regular meetings, the CHSB reviewed applications and voted to recommend that the Board of County Commissioners consider the following individuals for appointment to the CHSB:
- Ms. Monica King is eligible to fill the "Other Person" position.
- Ms. Susan Marciniak is eligible to fill the "Other Person" position.
- Ms. Angel Martin is eligible to fill the "Other Person" position.
- Mr. Harold Schmoecker is eligible to fill the "Other Person" position.
- Dr. Craig Kolasch is eligible to fill the "Physician" or "Other Person" position.
