BACKGROUND:
The Human Services Agency’s Public Health Division seeks to continue contract staffing support in the Inmate Health Services Program. Public Health has utilized the contractual services of AB Staffing Solutions, LLC for temporary inmate health staffing services since September 2023. AB Staffing Solutions, LLC has been effective and efficient in meeting our service needs, and the Division is requesting to continue utilizing this service. As the County is currently in the process of transitioning the operation of Inmate Health services to a private vendor, we have a critical need for inmate health nurse support during this transition as existing County inmate health nurses move out of the program. Given the short timeframe for the new vendor transition over the next few months, it is necessary that we use contracted nurses to help meet the County’s obligation of providing inmate health services until a new vendor is finalized.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The anticipated annual cost for this service is $236,000 and is budgeted accordingly for in FY2024.
