ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the County Manager to 1) execute an agreement substantially consistent with this agenda item, 2) exercise any renewal or extension term options set forth in the Agreement, and 3) terminate the Agreement if deemed in the best interest of the County, each in the County Manager's discretion.

BACKGROUND:
The County Manager’s Office is requesting an extension of our consulting services agreement with MRL Consulting, led by Michelle Lancaster, until December 31, 2024. Michelle Lancaster has been an invaluable asset to Union County, serving as Deputy County Manager and Executive Director of the Consolidated Human Services Agency for eight years. Currently, the County Managers' Office is involved in critical ongoing projects that require Michelle's expertise for successful completion. Extending our agreement will ensure continuity and the successful execution of these initiatives. The County Manager’s Office has utilized the contractual services of MRL Consulting, LLC for various ongoing initiatives and projects since August 2023. MRL Consulting, LLC has been effective and efficient in meeting our service needs, and we are requesting to continue this service for an additional 11 months.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The anticipated annual cost for this service is $66,000.00 and is budgeted accordingly for FY2024.
