INFORMATION CONTACT:

ACTION REQUESTED:
Review and approve requested fees to be added to the Human Services Agency’s Division of Public Health Fee Schedule.
PRIOR BOARD ACTIONS:
None.
BACKGROUND:
The Union County Human Services Agency’s Division of Public Health requests approval to adopt fees for CPT Codes:
• 99401- Preventive Medicine Counseling ($42.82)
• 90380- RSV monoclonal antibody, 0.5mL ($664.09)
• 90381- RSV monoclonal antibody, 1.0mL ($664.09)
The fee requested for Preventive Medicine Counseling will be charged to all patients regardless of payer source. The fees requested for the RSV Vaccine will not be charged to patients who are eligible for NC Medicaid benefits or uninsured patients but will be charged to patients who are eligible for commercial insurance. We are not seeking reimbursement from NC Medicaid eligible and uninsured patients because we are a Vaccine For Children (VFC) deputized provider which allows us to administer VFC covered vaccines at no cost to patients who qualify for the vaccine under VFC guidelines. VFC guidelines state that we should not charge NC Medicaid eligible patients or uninsured patients for the RSV vaccine.
The service fees were reviewed and approved by the Public Health Management Team on November 6, 2023 and by the Consolidated Human Services Board on January 8, 2024.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The revenue generated by the requested fees will assist the Human Services Agency’s Division of Public Health in covering the cost of providing associated clinical services.
