ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the County Manager to 1) execute an agreement with Terracon Consultants, Inc. substantially consistent with this agenda item, 2) exercise any renewal or extension term options set forth in the Agreement, and 3) terminate the Agreement if deemed in the best interest of the County, each in the County Manager's discretion.

BACKGROUND:
The project involves construction of a new solid waste convenience center, with a proposed waste compactor area, open canopy type metal building, drive-up rolloff dumpsters, a cast-in-place retaining wall, with heavy and light duty parking areas, circulation drive and new access road. The scope of the project includes construction activities that require 3rd party testing services to ensure compliant soils, concrete, pavements and structural steel are put in place and meet design requirements and specifications.
Terracon Consultants, Inc. has been selected to provide special inspections and construction materials testing services under Task Order 2023-02 for the Austin Chaney Household Waste Site. Terracon Consultants, Inc. was chosen from a list of vendors previously selected from RFQ 2023-077 Special Inspections and Material Testing to provide these services for Union County projects.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total cost of the contract with Terracon Consultants, Inc. is $120,549.00. Sufficient funds are available in Capital Account 61287000 - Austin Chaney Site Redesign.
