ACTION REQUESTED:
Adopt the Resolution for Naming of Certain Areas of Libraries in the Union County Library System.

BACKGROUND:
The Union County Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 1988 as the capital fundraising support group for Union County Libraries. Currently, the Union County Library Foundation has received funds to support the new Southwest Regional Library and the Union West Regional Library. The Union County Library Foundation launched its Our Library, Our Future $1.5 million Capital Campaign in November of 2021 to enhance the amenities that will be available in the new Southwest Regional Library. The money raised by the Foundation will enhance interior furnishings, the basic print and nonprint collections, and interior and exterior programming spaces. Through the Foundation's fundraising efforts, the Foundation has received or is pledged to receive more than $700,000. The Foundation has also received $10,000 to support the children's area of the Union West Regional Library. The Foundation plans to donate these funds to Union County through monetary donations or personal property excluding any Foundation administrative and personnel costs. The Foundation is requesting certain areas of the Southwest Regional Library and the Union West Regional Library be given certain names in recognition of these financial contributions from donors to the Foundation to comply with the Union County Facility Naming Policy.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Currently, the Union County Library Foundation has raised over $700,000 for the Southwest Regional Library and $10,000 for the Union West Regional Library.
