BACKGROUND:

Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Laboratory is requesting an Inventory Management System for management of the laboratory activities, data, reports, and other necessary accreditation documents. This will allow for standardization for Laboratory reports and forums. Union County Sheriff’s Office has completed the RFP and has determined Justice Trax, Inc. to be the best fit for their needs.

RFP 2023-050 Laboratory Information Management System was received by the due date of April 26, 2023. Three proposals were received and reviewed by an evaluation team in accordance with applicable evaluation criteria for this project. The top three firms/vendors were invited to shortlist interview/presentations. As a result, the evaluation team requests approval to enter into a contract with the top scoring/ranked preferred offeror, JusticeTrax, Inc., to provide Laboratory Information Management Services.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The initial implementation costs for this service are $33,650. The anticipated annual subscription costs for the service are $24,200. Since this contract contains a three-year term, a total of $106,250 is estimated to be spent. Funding is available in the adopted FY2024 budget with future expenditures subject to annual BOCC budget appropriation.
